We have all heard it Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. It is practically programmed into us by the different medias that we hear and see daily. And yet through those same medias we are told to buy the things that will make us happy. Feels like a conundrum or contradiction of sorts. We all need things for our lives (water being first and foremost) even the most basic of necessities, bathroom tissue. (to the person behind that invention, hats off to you my friend!) When is the last time you were on that family camping outing and it's like, "Was I supposed to pack the T.P.?" If you have to ask that question, it's probably too late...
Joking aside, there are things we need and furniture is usually one of them. (further down the list for sure) Next time you have a need for furniture or accessories for your home, give us at SECOND CHANCE a try! By working with and reworking existing pieces you personally take part in a WIN-WIN-WIN. (the best of all outcomes) You win by getting a neat, functional, well designed item(s) for a reasonable price. The environment wins, buy not having to make another piece and transport it to another part of the world. We also win by being able to work (and carpool) with eachothers best friend! (cheesy, I know, but true)
There you have it, our tiny sustainable expression of a true local and mom and pop shop of the future. This is the essence of the reuse movement and one small building block of a larger trend. We encourage you to support the many other sustainable retailers that are growing and spouting up in our new economy.
